The Kern Wheelmen Bicycle Club invites you to enjoy our third Alta Sierra Challenge Century. Registration includes four great routes to choose from, fully stocked rest stops, marked routes, maps, full sag support, lack of traffic and a post-ride BBQ.

THE RIDES
- Alta Sierra Century
- Introducing the companion challenge to the Kern Wheelmen Spooktacular!! A century to start out your season with a bang. The 107 mile ride and 10,000+ feet of clilmbing is for those serious riders who did not get enough climbing on the Spooktacular. Starting at Yokuts Park, you soon leave the city behind and start the beautiful climb up Alta Sierra. You will reach the summit at about the half way point and start the dizzying descent into Glenville and back to Bakersfield. Be prepared with warm clothes and an attitude for this ride.

- Alta Sierra 95
- 95 miles and 7200 feet of beautiful scenery. A great ride for someone looking for something a little more challenging than the Metric+. Be prepared with warm clothes and an attitude for this ride.
- Alta Sierra Challenge 110
- Alta Sierra Metric-Plus Century
- Enjoy the beauty of the spring hills surrounding Bakersfield, You may even think you are in Ireland. This ride will go out Granite Road toward Woody. From Woody you will do the crossover road then back to Bakersfield and a fantastic lunch. This fairly challenging ride will be 71 miles with 5000 ft.

- Hart Park Fun Ride
- This 27 mile route follows the bike path to Hart Park, continuing on to a moderate route that circles around. With at least 2000 ft. of climbing and rest stops, this is a fun day out for the whole family. Start Before 10:00am

After the ride, all riders will enjoy the hometown hospitality of a post ride BBQ meal! (We are serious when we say we ride to eat!).
- Details, Details
- Helmets are required for all riders, and you must obey all traffic laws
- Make certain you bring clothing to accommodate all weather conditions - could be warm, could be cold!
- For those riding the 95 or Century - at registration, bags will be provided for you to pick up cold weather clothing at the summit or in Glenville. You will then be able to drop off your clothes at the Woody Y, where they will be transported back to the registration desk at the finish of the ride
- All rides are fully supported with rest stops, remote communication, SAG vehicles and mechanical support
- Start training NOW for the 110 mile ride!!!
- Prices
- $30 for the 27 mile ride
- All other rides are $45
Rest stops, SAG support and a full post-ride meal are included in the price.
- Times
- All riders doing the 100 mile ride must start by 7:00
- All other riders need to start before 9:00
- Course closes at 5pm
This ride is limited to 600 riders.

Race-Day Registration - 7-8:30 am
Race Starting Times:
9:00 a.m. - 5K & 10K- Open Men/Women
9:10 a.m. - ½ Mile Youth Run (13 & Under)
10:00 a.m. - 5K Run/Walk- The real Real Estate Challenge Men/Women
Open to everyone in the R.E. field (Agents, loan officers, escrow, builders, appraisers, home inspectors, termite companies, title reps, home warranty reps…)
11:00 a.m. - Sprint Biathlon- (5K Trail Run/10K Mountain Bike) Men/Women
12:00 noon - AWARDS: Top 3 Male & Top 3 Female Finishers of every race!
All top 3 male & female in each of the 5 races will receive:
1) Name, Place and Time embroidered on K.O.T.H. Race Shirt
2) Copy of first annual K.O.T.H. DVD! (mailed to address on registration form)
3) Name, Place and Time in all of NEXT YEAR’S K.O.T.H. Shirts!

Directions:
From Bakersfield:
Exit Hwy 99 on AIRPORT DRIVE. Go past the Bakersfield Airport. After James Road, the name changes to GRANITE ROAD. Stay on Granite Road for approx. 34 miles until it intersects STATE HIGHWAY 155 at a STOP SIGN. Turn LEFT onto State Hwy. 155. Drive for approx. 400 meters and you’ll see the Lazy Lilac Ranch on your RIGHT. Use the BARN ENTRANCE for EVENT PARKING.
From Fresno:
Exit Hwy 99 in DELANO and take Garces Hwy 155 EAST towards Woody/Glennville. The ranch entrance is off Hwy 155 approx. 33 miles from Hwy 99 in Delano. IF you get to the Mountain Market, Motel, & Restaurant you’ve gone too far.
*Please allow 45 minute driving time from the Bakersfield Airport or Delano.
**WARNING: There are no gas stations near or in Glennville. Please FUEL UP your vehicle in Bakersfield or Delano before heading into the hills.

Fun off road courses designed for fun. The event takes place on Nickel Family LLC property just off HWY 178 East of Rancheria Rd. $20 for non BTC members, $17 for BTC members. Race fees will go up on race day.
